Let's Start 2018 Off Right!!!
So last year was supposed to be my year of the finish....and while I started out strong....I got side tracked with life, blog hops, new fabric, new projects and the list could go on and on, lol!
So I took inventory and made a new list....which was kind of depressing....while I started out last year with 23 quilt tops and I'm now down to 9, that need to be finished.....my last list only hinted at blocks from projects started and not even sewn into quilt tops......
I found 12, let's be honest UFOs, because to call them WIPs would suggest that I have been working on them and not just storing them in Scrapbook paper bins.....😳😬
So I've decided to try another personal challenge year....but, this time I am going to break it down into monthly challenges for myself. Feel free to join along if you have your own list of projects to complete, or just follow along to see if I meet my monthly challenges. I may even allow myself a treat (let's be honest, it's fabric and I have no will power when I see cute new fabric lines) when I complete a challenge...
✅1. Take a project inventory, listing all unfinished projects.
✅2. Go through your list and be honest with yourself...are there any projects that just don't speak to you anymore?? Consider selling, donating, gifting to a friend, or repurposing the materials.
3. Clean up your work space and organize your unfinished projects so you can start your year fresh and ready to conquer. ( I hate cleaning, but I will get it done this weekend, because I hate clutter more....)
✅4. Pick one project to finish by the end of the month. You maybe able to finish more but start with one. For me it "might" just be that quilt top (Blast Off, pattern in my Pattern Shop) that has been loaded on my long arm for over a month...where did December go.....
Speaking of fabric treats... now that you have done a project inventory you may want to do a fabric inventory to see if you need anything to complete your WIP/UFO lists. There are still some Boxing Week sales going on and if you need something (binding, backing, notions, etc) you might as well get a deal!!
Here are a few I know about...and you have a few days left to go find a deal...
And Canadian National Fabrics is offering a 25% discount of your entire order using
discount code: WINTER25OFF
And don't forget you can always use discount code UPSTAIRSHOBBYROOM to save 15% on your Zipit Zipper orders....incase some of your projects require some great zippers in awesome colours!!
One more thing before I sign off...I have been posting a link up on the 9th of each month for the last number of months, and lets be honest only a few of you have linked any projects of things going on in your creative world...maybe there are enough linky parties happening out there...so I have decided, for now, to stop paying for the service I was using to make this happen. So this month will be the last link up. I hope you will add a picture or please comment below and tell my why you haven't linked up, or both...I always love to hear from my readers and comments and suggestions only help to make my blog content better for you!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
